Head Start is a federally funded program that is not-for-profit, which means donations are tax deductible.

Gifts-In-Kind are non-financial donations such as books, school supplies, equipment, or services. This means you or your company can contribute a product that is needed rather than donate the money to purchase it.

You can also contribute your time or services as a gift-in-kind to help the children and families of our program.

Volunteering and Service Donations

Volunteer opportunities are available for everyone.  You can volunteer on a regular basis or for a one-time helping experience.  Opportunities can also be designed to meet your schedule and needs.  Examples of volunteering with Head Start include:

  • Helping in classrooms
  • Guest readers for book distributions
  • Office Work
  • Field Trips
  • Classroom projects
  • Serving on one of several Committees
  • Presentations in classrooms
  • Food experiences in classrooms
  • Providing meals for Parent Committee Meetings
  • Cleaning toys in classrooms or the Parent room
  • Preparing materials for classroom teachers
  • Providing childcare on-site during meetings
Grant Match

Each year, our program must match a portion of the federal grant that we operate from, as a part of the rules of the grant.  This match may be made through gifts-in-kind and donations of time and services.  Your generosity makes it possible for us to continue to offer free, quality pre-school services to low-income children and their families for the next year-  "Paying It Forward" for the next group of 3-year-old and 4-year-old children who would not have this opportunity without the generosity of people like YOU.  You can make a difference in the life of a child through your donation to Pocatello/Chubbuck Head Start.
